Reducing Communication Barriers

In the last 10 years technology in the health care system has advanced significantly. In my opinion technology is playing a crucial role by reducing communication barriers with clients and nurses. This is done through telehealth, online database journals, and digital charts. These types of technology are providing nurses and health care workers additional time to communicate with the patient. For example, if there is a patient with a language barrier; power point presentations maybe used to educate the client. Another example is if a client is not sure if they have an injury that is an emergency they can call telehealth to get an immediate response. Therefore, technology is essential for the health and safety of patients.

Hello,

I really enjoyed reading your article. I definitely agree on your concept of understanding for technology and it’s advantage in reducing communicational barriers. Most people generally say that technology is too advanced and individuals can not keep up with the progressing trend.
Our society has become so dependent on technology - yes it is quite advanced, but the results are evident as you show in your blog. With the amount of NewComers in Canada, this technology is only an uprising way of lifting the hopes around us and within the society.
Thanks for sharing this.

As you've mentioned above, especially for online database journals, telehealth, and digital charts it plays a crucial role.
